Pent and Moon

December 27th, 2009

Disclaimer: You saw Power Rangers. Was it anywhere near this morbid? Well, sorta, I suppose... But that doesn’t mean I own it, cuz I don’t. We clear? Good.

Summary: This is a prequel to something I wrote a while ago, What Makes It Worth It?. You don’t have to have read that one for this one to make sense. Basically, Karone centric post LG.

Rated: T, for destruction, bad things, and death.

Warnings: Morbid, depressing, bad things, and character pre-death. (Sorry, didn’t know how better to say that. But if you read the other one, you know what happens.)

Word Count: 1305

Haul report )

Monkey understands presents and so had a blast. Cakers kinda got the hang of tearing off the wrapping paper, and was surprisingly actually interested in the toys once they were opened :P

Roommate's BFF is here for the weekend, otherwise she'd be alone for the holiday.

I have my period :/

I think I have a head cold :(

I work 3pm-9:30pm X(

I'm drinking cold, 3-day-old coffee XP

I better get some food at some point here.

What a freakin' day.

Monkey threw up again last night, but hasn't since. Was careful about what I gave him to eat and drink and he didn't even complain about his stomach hurting all day, was a lot less lethargic too. So I'm hoping he's entirely over it now. BUT, Peng'in came down with flu-like symptoms today and so has been pretty much out of commission. EXCEPT, he and Roomie had to go out and get a new part for our furnace - the thermostat was reading 59*F for a good part of the day. We heated up the oven to 400*F then opened the door, which managed to raise the thermostat reading to about 65, and I kept myself and the kids in layers and blankets. But the damn thing is fixed now, but Peng'in really had to put himself out to take care of it. I'm not surprised my period hasn't showed its face yet, with the stress I've been dealing with this weekend...

And I slammed my finger in a door too.

*sigh* Back to work tomorrow.

Monkey had some sort of 24-hour bug, but seems to be better. We'll see how he's doing tomorrow.

Actually want to go camping this Summer. Used to think I hated it. Still not too comfy sleeping without an air mattress though.

Home alone tonight, except for sleeping kids, and the animals.

Gonna go read till I pass out, I think.

The presentation in Monkey's class went GREAT!! The kids listened well to the story, and REALLY enjoyed the coloring sheet (which was the part I suspected they'd like the most anyway)! Right after I finished the story, one child commented that he thought the baby in the belly was God. I smiled at him and said, "That works!" Kids are a lot more insightful than we adults often give them credit for :) While they were coloring, Monkey's teacher asked me if we also celebrated Christmas, and I told her that we do, we just consider it more of an American cultural holiday rather than a religious one. I'm so pleased with how today went *big smile*

Monkey gets to bring home new snow boots today, free from school. I was also able to pick up a bag of presents for him from the school and Volunteers of America, PLUS my aunt and uncle in CA sent presents that Mom brought over for us! So nice that there will be presents under the tree right away when we set it up tonight. Have I mentioned also that I LOVE MONKEY'S SCHOOL?! :D :D :D

A BIG THANK YOU TO [info]animamea. She knows why :D

Okies, back to laundry and house-cleaning. Have a good rest of the day, flist.

In about an hour here I'll be leaving to give my Yule presentation to Monkey's class. A little nervous, but I'm betting the kids won't think much of it beyond liking the story and enjoying the coloring sheet.

I found public-domain pictures to go along with the story too. Tweaked a few of them. Click to see (large) full-size versions. )

Off to get ready!
